About Us
The Save Sherwood Forest movement consists of many committed people who frequently make great personal sacrifices, giving generously of their time and resources without being paid and often without being acknowledged. Some of the most valued contributions continue to be made anonymously by people who seek no credit or personal gain, asking for nothing in return except the preservation of the forest. This is one of the greatest strengths of the movement; we know that it’s not about us, but about the trees.
Another great strength of the Save Sherwood Forest movement is our diversity and inclusiveness. We come from all walks of life, political persuasions, and cultural backgrounds. We welcome and embrace everyone, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, social affiliation, income level, etc. We know that environmental responsibility is everyone’s birthright, and we’re all equally responsible. If you care about saving Sherwood Forest and you want to help in any way, you automatically become a part of the movement and we welcome whatever support you can offer. You don’t need to obtain anyone’s permission to take action and make a creative contribution, any more than you do to make a financial one. Cooperation and teamwork are hallmarks of the Save Sherwood Forest movement, but at the same time we encourage independent action and free expression. Everything is voluntary; people contribute whatever they can, whenever they can. Some give much more than others, but even the smallest contributions make a difference and are greatly appreciated by all.
